“Portaluri Giuseppe & figli s.n.c.”, is a family-run business founded in 1965 by Knight of Labour Mr. Giuseppe Portaluri and specialized in the production and packaging of hats and caps for man in fabric.

This factory has always been based in Maglie, since its founding until 1971 in via A. Pisino and from 1971 to 1987, in via Madonna di Leuca. Initially with the help of the children Giovanni, Rosanna and Antonio and, later, of Lucia and Roberto, the company began to stand out immediately on the market, as to become one of the most known and renowned of the sector, above all thanks to the continuous search for originality in design and the particular care in the packaging of products.

Since 1987 “Portaluri Giuseppe & Figli s.n.c.” moves its headquarters at the new factory, always located in Maglie in via F.lli Piccinno, where the experience of employees meets the technological innovation of well-advanced machinery. This very minute, so, as regards the production, the company reaches very high goals (about 700 units produced by craftsmen a day) and began working with the resonant names in the world of national and international fashion as Altea, Borsalino, The Bridge , Dolce & Gabbana, Barbisio, Panizza, etc.

In 2014, then, “Portaluri Giuseppe & Figli s.n.c.” is recognised the "Meridiana Award" for being distinguished thanks to the goals achieved long in the tooth in economic and productive sphere, despite the specter of economic crisis, as one of the best realities of the South.

Certainly, the commitment and the passion lavished daily by the owners in the exercise of their tasks, as well as dedication to the attainment of perfection, will allow them to continue to write the history of “Portaluri & Figli s.n.c.”.
